SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director, Operations, you will lead the delivery of multiple heavy civil construction projects—with a focus on MTO work, large-scale earthworks, and self-perform execution.
You will be accountable for end-to-end project delivery, contract administration, field execution, and commercial performance, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Delivery & Contract Administration
- Lead multiple MTO and heavy civil projects from planning to closeout
- Own contract administration (RFIs, change orders, claims mitigation, cost control)
- Manage budgets, schedules, forecasts, and risk
- Interpret drawings, specs, and contracts to ensure compliant, efficient delivery
Self-Perform & Earthworks Execution
- Drive self-perform construction, partnering closely with field teams
- Lead earthworks operations (grading, excavation, haul optimization)
- Maintain alignment between project plans and site execution
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead and develop Project Coordinators and junior team members
- Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and partners
- Foster a respectful, inclusive team environment where diverse perspectives are valued
Safety & Compliance
- Champion a safety-first culture
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory requirements
- Maintain quality standards and drive continuous improvement
REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years in heavy civil project management, with MTO experience strongly preferred
- Proven experience in earthworks and self-perform construction
- Strong contract administration and commercial acumen
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
