The Opportunity
Otter Wise Talent Solutions is proud to partner with a growing and innovative commercial construction organization to recruit an experienced Project Manager – Integrated Project Delivery (IPD).
Based in St. Albert, Alberta, this position is responsible for leading the successful delivery of complex commercial, institutional, and multi-family construction projects utilizing Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) and Lean Construction methodologies.
Reporting to senior leadership, you will oversee projects from preconstruction through closeout while championing collaborative planning, the Last Planner® System, Lean principles, and transparent project delivery. Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery
- Lead commercial, institutional, and multi-family construction projects from preconstruction through project closeout.
- Deliver projects using Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) and collaborative contracting models.
- Champion Lean Construction methodologies throughout every phase of the project lifecycle.
- Ensure projects achieve schedule, budget, quality, and client performance objectives.
- Lead project planning sessions and facilitate collaborative decision-making.
Lean Construction & IPD Leadership
- Champion Lean Construction principles including:
- Last Planner® System
- Pull Planning
- Look-Ahead Planning
- Constraint Management
- Continuous Improvement
- Retrospectives
- Promote workflow reliability and collaborative planning across all project stakeholders.
- Foster a culture of transparency, accountability, innovation, and shared success.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Build trusted relationships with owners, architects, consultants, engineers, and trade partners.
- Maintain proactive communication throughout every phase of project delivery.
- Ensure project outcomes align with project objectives and collaborative delivery principles.
- Deliver exceptional client service while maintaining strong professional relationships.
Team Leadership
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams throughout all project phases.
- Coordinate consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal project teams.
- Encourage early trade involvement and collaborative constructability planning.
- Mentor team members while fostering a positive, solutions-focused environment.
Planning, Cost & Risk Management
- Manage project budgets, forecasting, reporting, and overall financial performance.
- Administer collaborative risk management and shared accountability practices common within IPD environments.
- Identify project risks early and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
- Oversee project schedules with an emphasis on workflow reliability and milestone achievement.
- Manage project scope, change orders, documentation, and reporting.
Safety & Quality
- Promote safety as a shared responsibility across all project participants.
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety legislation and company policies.
- Maintain exceptional quality standards throughout every phase of construction.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across project teams.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of Project Management experience within commercial construction.
- Demonstrated experience delivering ground-up commercial, institutional, or multi-family construction projects valued between $5 million and $50 million.
- Proven experience delivering projects using Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) or collaborative delivery models.
- Hands-on experience applying Lean Construction methodologies.
- Experience utilizing the Last Planner® System is required.
- Experience managing commercial construction crews, subcontractors, consultants, and project stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Commercial construction
- Multi-family residential construction
- Institutional construction
- Design-Build delivery
- Alternative delivery contracts
- Building envelope systems
- Pre-engineered buildings
- Strong understanding of construction scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and project sequencing.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and relationship management skills.
- Highly analytical with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Collaborative leadership style with a customer-focused approach.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced construction environment.
Education & Certifications
- Civil Engineering Technology (CET) designation, or
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation, or
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant construction experience.
- Lean Construction and/or Last Planner® certification or demonstrated practical experience is required.
Technical Skills
Experience with the following is highly preferred:
- AutoCAD
- Revit
- Procore
- Microsoft Office Suite
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary of $110,000 - $135,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

Work Environment
- Full-time permanent position based in St. Albert, Alberta.
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
- Office-based with regular project site visits throughout Alberta and British Columbia.
