The Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced QA/QC Manager to lead its Quality Assurance and Quality Control program while supporting fabrication and field construction projects across the oil and gas, industrial, and energy sectors.
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an experienced quality professional who combines strong technical knowledge with the ability to build systems, mentor teams, and drive continuous improvement. Reporting directly to senior leadership, you'll oversee the company's Quality Management System while working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, fabrication personnel, inspectors, clients, and regulatory agencies to ensure every project is executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities
Quality Leadership
- Lead and oversee the company's Quality Assurance and Quality Control program.
- Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement across fabrication and field operations.
- Ensure projects consistently meet client specifications, regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company procedures.
- Mentor project teams by promoting quality awareness and best practices.
Quality Management Systems
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Create and maintain quality procedures, inspection processes, documentation standards, and quality records.
- Ensure all quality documentation remains current and compliant.
- Support document control initiatives and quality reporting processes.
Project Quality Oversight
- Coordinate and oversee:
- Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
- Material Receiving Inspections
- Hydrotesting Documentation
- Weld Documentation
- Material Traceability
- Turnover Packages
- Review inspection reports, NDE documentation, radiographic reports, and quality records.
- Perform visual inspections of fabricated materials, piping systems, structural steel, and completed installations.
Technical Review
Review and interpret:
- P&IDs
- Isometric Drawings
- Structural Drawings
- Client Specifications
- Construction Drawings
Ensure compliance with:
- ASME B31.1
- ASME B31.3
- CSA Standards
- CWB Requirements
- ABSA Requirements
- Client Quality Standards
- Company Quality Procedures
Client & Regulatory Relations
- Serve as the primary QA/QC representative with clients, inspectors, and regulatory agencies.
- Participate in internal and external quality audits.
- Investigate quality issues and develop corrective action plans.
- Support project teams in resolving technical quality concerns.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to strengthen quality systems and operational performance.
- Analyze quality trends and recommend process improvements.
- Support root cause investigations and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with operations to improve project execution while maintaining quality and schedule commitments.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess:
- Minimum five (5) years of QA/QC experience within the oil and gas industry.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience within a QA/QC environment.
- Extensive knowledge of fabrication and field construction quality programs.
- Strong working knowledge of:
- ASME B31.1
- ASME B31.3
- CSA Standards
- CWB Requirements
- ABSA Requirements
- Experience with:
- Welded piping
- Structural steel
- Facility construction
- Pipeline construction
- Tank and vessel construction
- Fabrication and field installation
- Non-Destructive Examination (NDE)
- Strong understanding of:
- Weld procedures
- Hydrotesting
- Material traceability
- Inspection processes
- Client quality specifications
- Ability to interpret:
- P&IDs
- Isometric Drawings
- Structural Drawings
- Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring abilities.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Experience with Bluebeam, Adobe Acrobat, AutoCAD, Acorn, or similar software is considered an asset.
- Skilled Trade Certification or related technical education is considered an asset.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.
